Title: The Unwanted Pear

Artist Statement:

My inspiration for this piece was I wanted to do something that I know nobody else in this classroom would have done. At most times, that's what I mainly aim for. Also, when I saw this picture, it caught my eye. I've never done anything like this before so I took it as a challenge.

The process I took to complete my piece was at first I drew the outline of the pear then broke it down into sections. Then I erased the unwanted parts. Afterwards, I started from the bottom with the pastels and worked my way up to the top until I got to the last section. Lastly, I began to color in the background black.

Title: A Spray Of Relief

Artist Statment:

My inspiration that helped me grow the idea of this piece was a situation I was going through at the time I thought of this idea.

The process I did to create my art was at first I had to relate myself to my art. I expressed the way I was feeling with the air coming out of the spray can.

Title: Carbi B

Artist Statment:

My inspiration was trying to see if I could make it easier for me to draw if I found someone with a silly face and that wasn't so serious. In cartoons, majority of the time the characters are more of joking and laughing than just serious and I thought that I could blend the two in together.

The process I took to create this piece was I started with the outline first so I could see where everything would go. Then I began with the mouth because it seemed the easiest to me. After that, I drew the nose so I could figure out how to draw the eyes and where to place them at. After I stuggled with the eyes for a while, time was consuming me so I started on the hair and finshed it. Lastly I went back to the eyes so I could have more time to perfect them and it didn't turn out as I hopped they would but I did try my hardest. The grid did help to show where all my details would go.

Title: Powerful

Artist Statement:

My inspiration for Powerful was actually an interesting process. I continuosly changed my thought process until the deadline was very soon to arrive. I took one of the drawings I had from my previous artwork and finished it off. After I completed it, I wasn"t satisfied with it so I added something that would earn it more attention.

The process I took to create this was I sketeched out the drawing at first. Then I colored it and was going to send it on its way but something about it was dull to me. It's actually incomplete. I added a third eye full of glitter. That helped explain the knowledge and a key to help express that "Knowledge is powerful."

Title: Kane

Artist Statment

My inspiration for picking this piece was I like to rule over things. I like to be in control so I can relate to Kane with him being the ruler of the universe.

I create this sculpture by forming the shape of the tiki first. I useda slab of clay and rolled it. Then I created a durible base to make sure the sculpture didn't fall or lean. Next I began to draw the outlines so I knew where things go. After that, I began to put the pieces where they go.

Title: The Mechanical Seahorse

Artist Statement

My inspiration for drawing a seahorse was at the time, I was thinking of Spongebob and the time he had a pet seahorse. We had to create something as if it was mechanical and there you have it.

The process I went through to create this piece was I found a picture of a seahorse off Spongebob ans sketched it out. Then added bolts and screws. After that, I added a shadow around the seahorse and added more bolts as if they were air bubbles.

Title: Jeffery

Artist Statement

My inspiration for Jeffery was I always wanted a simpson character to hang on my wall but not the normal ones. So I took Jeffery (aka Young Thug) and drew him as a Simpson character.

What I did to create this piece was a drew him out on a board and painted it.

Title: Pluto

Artist Statement

Painting Pluto was actually my last option. Donald Duck was first then Mickey. But I wasn't too happy with how I broke down the shapes so then I turned to Pluto and he worked perfectly.

The process I took to come up with my piece was I sketched out the drawing and did a practice paint to see if the paint would match up. Then after I was satisfied, I proceded to paint the final. For the last finishing touches, I went around every shape with black paint to make it stand out.

                Title: Colorful Night

Artist Statement:

My inspiration for drawing this piece was I actually seen a picture similar to this. I watched how it was created and saw it was a challenge so I tried it out. In my opinion, I did a good job.

The proces I took to create this artwork was at first I sketched out the trees in a light fashion so when I painted it, it wouldn't show. Then I did a wash and added light colors and a lot of water so the colors would blend. Next after the paint dried, I went in, mostly paint so I

I could add detail to the piece
